If you're looking for a way to check out a local merchant in action before doing business at their shop, you can view an interactive video about the business, it's products and services.
Recently, Chamber members have been working on individual web sites for each of the town's major business districts. From these sites, Penfield shoppers can click on a shop and view an informative video clip. They can see the shop employees and owners in action, interacting with customers and talking about their business. Directions to the store and contact information is also a click away.
It's one of the many ways the Penfield Chamber is helping its members benefit from new web marketing methods. The best part.. It's a free service provided to all Penfield Chamber Members. The program is in its preliminary stage with a few business members already posted on the web. More video taping is being done and in due time, more Chamber members' businesses will be posted on the web.
Roz Richards, Chamber member and owner of PaperRozzi Invitations & Stationery and Rozmataz Art & Framing, is excited to be a part of this new program. Richards' shop is at 1201 Bay Road in the Crossroads business district of Penfield (Bay, Empire). She is one of three other owners who has a video clip on the district's official Web site, www.crossroads14580.com.
So far, DiBella’s sub shop, the UPS store and Fitness on the run have videos featured on the Crossroads Web site with more to follow. John Wilkie, President of the Chamber is the originator and the main driving force behind this innovative web marketing program. The Chamber's ultimate plan is to consolidate all Penfield shopping districts under one main web site at www.shoppenfield.com. The web site would not only feature videos of Penfield businesses, it would also post coupons and special sale offers from participating merchants. And if you don't know how to get there, the site will also include interactive Google maps with directions.
Participation in the Shop Penfield program is free, however merchants desiring to do so must be members of the Penfield Chamber of Commerce.
